What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy. These tiny pricks also allow the growth factors in the mask that we recommend to penetrate deeper into the skin giving you a stimulated treatment. 3-6 treatments are typically recommended. We advise starting with a package of 3 with about 4-6 weeks in between each appointment.
Pre Treatment Instructions
Avoid aspirin, Advil, vitamin e, fish oil and/or other blood thinners if you get approval by your physician. This will help prevent bruising.
What to expect during treatment?
We do recommend a topical numbing cream to be applied to treatment area if possible, for 30min-1hour to increase comfort during the treatment.
We will remove numbing cream and sterilize your skin to prep for treatment. You will feel minimal to zero discomfort. The procedure is well tolerated and in some cases virtually painless, feeling only a mild prickling sensation. This procedure will induce collagen and elastin to help firm, tighten and regenerate new skin cells.
Your skin most likely will be pink or red appearance, much like a sunburn for a few hours post treatment.
Severity of redness will depend on sensitivity and area being treated.
We recommend using our Growth Factor Masks post treatment to stimulate results and healing.
